Some word
Some years ago I gave some music workshops for unemployed young people. The goal was to offer these people the possibility of finding meaning to their daily routine, withing the framework of a creative social interaction. It was with this group that, step by step, I tried different techniques to achieve that main goal, that is how Gestaltic music acquired shape. Gestalic music thus, became a method in constant development that has proved its effectiveness with different groups, mainly, those who suffer from physical or mental handicaps.
The Gestaltic music method, uses music to develop personal growth from a holistic point of view. Within this multidisciplinary framework, ideas with different origin meet together, thus allowing to get hold of various therapeutic tools that help individual and group work.
The main goal of Gestaltic music is to motivate the individual to be aware of him or herself and his or her surroundings, and that way being able to take responsibility of his or her actions.
Gestalt is a German word and means a organized whole.
